Three years ago, Rubino’s gave birth to a 3 pound, 24 inch long cannoli and that baby has become a big seller.
It all started when they were approached by a couple who wanted their wedding cake as a huge cannoli filled with minis; Rubino’s promised to make it happen. Having never produced this product, they went through several iterations of trial and error only to come up with the best recipe and cooking devices. This was no easy feat but they did it and the couple was ecstatic. Having created a successful product, they started marketing the Big Cannoli. Little did Mike Roberti, his girlfriend, Danielle who led the project, and his sister, Kristina, realize the demand that would follow. As the 3rd generation of the Rubino family, they are open to new products and were excited about this addition to their bakery line.
Today, the Big Cannoli, is the center piece of celebrations of every occasion imaginable. Baby showers, office parties, weddings, birthdays, graduations and sports celebrations or anytime people are celebrating, Rubino’s can custom decorate a Big Cannoli to the client’s wishes.
The minis are filled with the traditional ricotta sweet creme or bavarian cream with the shells having their quality crunch. Chocolate shells are also available and all come with plain, sprinkles, or chocolate chips. Is it a boy? they can add blue to the theme. They work off of your event and love the challenge to make a fun, delicious and spectacular centerpiece for your party. What’s even more fun is that they supply a hammer to crack the Big Canolli with a dip to slip in those slivers.
The Big Canolli’s are available in three different sizes from 75 to 150 mini’s and can be delivered to you in the greater Rochester area.
Rubino’s is a family owned and run Italian Market, plus catering service, that has served Rochester for 60 plus years. To have their 3rd generation involved is such a credit to their family and how lucky we are to have them continue running this business. So many local Italian delis and bakeries have closed because the latest generation doesn’t want to get involved. I’m thrilled that they are successful with loyal employees and customers and fully support their quality products and customer service.
